Today we had the inspection for the house we thought would be ours on March 23rd... I will keep this short and to the point. We were sunk before we ever stepped foot into the house. There were so many things wrong with the house that a "regular" person like Ryan or I would have realized. We are so happy we had an amazing inspector! We didn't even finish the inspection, the list was way too long before we ever got out of the kitchen area, Ryan and I knew it wasn't the right house for us, and our stomachs turned as we said that he could stop inspecting. We both left as we swallowed our emotions and made an informed, responsible, adult decision. :)
We were not upset that he was finding (tons) of problems, we were just bummed. We had been dreaming of that house since we laid eyes on it back in the beginning of January. I had picked out were all of our pictures would hang, what kitchen things would go where, bought appliances (thank goodness they can be returned!)and most of all, the set up was amazing- it was perfect for the kids. I am sad that we won't be spending this spring spreading out in all the space that house had to offer, however, I am counting all of our lucky stars that we didn't close on that house and be miserable and neck deep in repairs and maintenance.
So, here's to being back at ground zero and starting the house search all over again! Oy.
